How transfers between Guarapay cards work
Guarapay is a virtual prepaid Visa card with a US-dollar balance. If your friend also has a Guarapay card, you can send money from your balance to theirs right in the app.
You find the recipient by their Telegram @username or by the email of their account. The transfer between Guarapay cards costs US$ 0 and arrives instantly, so the money is on your friend’s card while you are still at the table.
Both sides see the amount in dollars, so there is no conversion between your balance and theirs.
Step by step: sending your share
- Open the Guarapay app or the Telegram mini app @guarapay_bot and create an account.
- Complete identity verification.
- Issue the virtual card; the issue fee is US$ 10 on Standard or US$ 100 on Premium.
- Top up your balance in the app with at least US$ 10; the top-up fee is 2%.
- Open the Transfer tab and enter your friend’s Telegram @username or email.
- Enter your share of the bill and check the amount and the recipient.
- Confirm the transfer; it arrives on your friend’s card instantly, with a US$ 0 fee.
What to keep in mind
Free instant transfers work between Guarapay cards. If a friend does not have a card yet, they can issue one in about two minutes in the app or in the Telegram mini app.
The money is sent from your card balance, so top up before you split the bill. The card has a monthly spending limit of US$ 10,000 on Standard and US$ 100,000 on Premium.
There is no monthly fee. Each approved purchase with the card costs US$ 0.25, taken from the balance with the purchase.
