Virtual dollar card: what it is and how it works

Updated on October 18, 2026

A virtual dollar card is a Visa card that lives in an app, with a US-dollar balance, for paying online. Here is what it is, what it costs, how to get one and where it works.

What a virtual dollar card is

Guarapay is a virtual prepaid Visa card with a US-dollar balance. It is issued in about two minutes in the app, with no plastic: the card number, expiry date and security code live in the app, ready for any online checkout.

It is prepaid, so you only spend what you put on the balance: no credit and no monthly bill. You top up your balance in the app and pay online wherever Visa cards are accepted: subscriptions, games, work tools and international stores. You get a notification in the app for every purchase.

Fees and limits

  • Issuing the card costs US$ 10 on Standard and US$ 100 on Premium; each top-up has a fee of 2% on Standard and 1% on Premium.
  • There is no monthly fee; each approved purchase costs US$ 0.25, taken from the card balance with the purchase.
  • The minimum top-up is US$ 10.
  • The monthly spending limit is US$ 10,000 on Standard and US$ 100,000 on Premium; in the app you can set your own lower caps, monthly and per purchase.
  • If a purchase is declined, the money stays on the card balance.

How to get one: step by step

  1. Download the Guarapay app or open the Telegram mini app @guarapay_bot.
  2. Create an account.
  3. Complete identity verification.
  4. Choose Standard or Premium and issue the virtual card; it is ready in about two minutes.
  5. Top up your balance in the app with at least US$ 10.
  6. Copy the card number, expiry date and security code from the app.
  7. Pay online like with any other Visa card and follow the purchase notifications in the app.

Where the card works

  • Subscriptions billed in dollars, such as AI tools, streaming and software.
  • International stores and marketplaces that accept Visa at checkout.
  • Games and in-game purchases in digital stores.
  • Hosting, domains and ad accounts that bill by card.

Using the card day to day

If a store charges in another currency, Visa converts the amount to dollars on the purchase date.

If a purchase is declined, the money stays on your balance; if you were charged and the payment failed, support refunds the amount to the card balance. You can freeze the card in one tap, and some merchants may decline cards according to their own rules.
