How to pay for Shopify with a virtual dollar card
Online sellers on Shopify pay for the store subscription, apps and domain by card. With a virtual Visa card holding a dollar balance you keep these costs apart from everything else and decide how much each bill can take.

How do you pay for Shopify with a dollar card?
Shopify charges the store subscription and other costs to the payment method saved in the billing settings. In many cases the bill is in US dollars, but the currency may depend on the account and country, so check it in your billing section.
Guarapay issues a virtual prepaid Visa card with a US-dollar balance in about two minutes, in the Guarapay app or the Telegram mini app @guarapay_bot. The card works online wherever Visa cards are accepted. Some merchants may decline cards according to their own rules, so check in the app that the first charge was approved.
How do you add the card to Shopify step by step?
- Open the Guarapay app or the Telegram mini app @guarapay_bot and create an account.
- Issue the virtual card; the issue fee is US$ 10 on Standard or US$ 100 on Premium.
- Top up the amount of the next bill plus US$ 0.25 per charge, using a Visa or Mastercard bank card in your own name or USDT.
- In the Shopify admin, open the settings and the billing section of the store.
- Add the card as a payment method, with the number, expiry, security code, name and billing address as they appear in the app.
- Check the chosen plan and the amount shown before you confirm.
- Look for the notification of each charge in the app, which arrives right away.
What goes on the Shopify bill?
Besides the store plan, the bill may include paid apps installed from the Shopify app store, paid themes, domains bought through Shopify and other services. The details of each item are in the billing section of the admin.
Some items may be charged right away and others with the bill. Each approved charge on the card has the per-purchase fee, so several small charges add up to more fees than one. If you buy the domain from another provider, it is paid separately, also with the card.
How much does it cost to pay for Shopify with the card?
The price of the plan, apps and domain is what Shopify shows; Guarapay does not change it. On the card side, you top up the bill amount, the 2% top-up fee is taken at top-up, and each approved charge costs US$ 0.25.
On Premium the top-up fee is 1%. There is no monthly card fee. If you top up with a local bank card, your bank may add its own taxes and exchange rate; with USDT the top-up lands directly in dollars.
How do you keep the store free of declined charges?
The plan and the apps renew automatically. Before the billing date, keep the bill amount plus the per-purchase fee on the card. If the balance is too low, the payment is declined, the money stays on your balance and Shopify may ask you to update the payment.
The card has a monthly limit of US$ 10,000 on Standard and US$ 100,000 on Premium. In the app you set a lower monthly cap and a per-purchase cap, so a forgotten app or an unexpected cost cannot take more than planned.
Why was my Shopify payment declined?
- Insufficient balance: it must cover the bill and the US$ 0.25 per-charge fee.
- Caps in the app: the monthly or per-purchase cap may be lower than the bill, especially for a yearly plan.
- Frozen card: unfreeze it in the app before trying again.
- A name or billing address that differs from what the app shows.
- Try again after a few minutes and, if it still fails, contact support through the Telegram bot in the app or on the website.
What mistakes are most common?
- Topping up only the plan price and forgetting the paid apps on the same bill.
- Keeping paid apps installed that the store no longer uses.
- Mixing up the card that pays the store costs with receiving sales: the card is for paying, not for collecting payments from customers.
- Forgetting that the bill must be covered on the billing day.
