How do you pay for international purchases under Remessa Conforme?

Updated on October 23, 2026

You pay the store at checkout, and the import tax shows up either at checkout or on delivery, depending on whether the store takes part in Remessa Conforme. A virtual Visa card with a dollar balance pays whatever the checkout shows.

How do you pay for international purchases under Remessa Conforme?

What is Remessa Conforme and what changes at payment?

Remessa Conforme is the Brazilian tax authority's (Receita Federal) programme for international purchases sent by parcel: taking part stores and platforms show the taxes at checkout and you pay everything together with the order. With stores that do not take part, the tax may be charged later, on delivery.

Rates and value brackets change by regulation. Check the store's checkout and the Receita Federal rules before you buy; this guide gives no tax percentages.

How do I pay an international purchase with a dollar card, step by step?

  1. Open the Guarapay app or the Telegram mini app @guarapay_bot and create an account.
  2. Issue the virtual Visa card; it is ready in about two minutes.
  3. In the store cart, note the total with shipping and taxes, where the store shows them.
  4. Top up that total plus US$ 0.25 with USDT or with a Visa or Mastercard bank card in your own name.
  5. At checkout choose card, enter the details and billing address as they appear in the app, and pick dollars if the store allows it.
  6. Confirm and watch for the charge notification in the app.

Is the tax charged at checkout or on delivery?

It depends on the store: when it takes part in Remessa Conforme, checkout already includes the taxes; when it does not, the tax may be charged on delivery by the postal service or courier and is not part of the amount paid to the store.

The card pays what the store charges at checkout. A tax charged later, on delivery, is paid separately and follows the import rules, so keep some money aside outside the card balance.

How much does it cost to pay for an international purchase with the card?

  • One-off issue fee: US$ 10 on Standard or US$ 100 on Premium; no monthly fee.
  • Top-up fee: 2% with USDT on Standard and 1% on Premium; 5% with a bank card on both plans.
  • US$ 0.25 per approved purchase, taken from the balance with the purchase; a declined purchase is not charged.
  • Monthly spending limit: US$ 10,000 on Standard and US$ 100,000 on Premium.
  • IOF: on a bank-card top-up your bank may add IOF and apply its own exchange rate.

What should I check before paying for an international purchase?

  • Whether the store shows the total with taxes and shipping, or the tax may come on delivery.
  • The checkout currency: with a dollar balance, prefer paying in dollars.
  • The card balance: it has to cover the total plus US$ 0.25.
  • The name and billing address: the same as in the app.
  • The delivery time and the store's return policy.
